Description
The specimen is a salivary gland, enlarged by a circumscribed nodule, some 4 x 3 cm.; this has
been bisected, and the gland opened out to show both halves of the tumour. The cut surface of the
tumour shows a somewhat variegated appearance with occasional areas of apparent cartilage. The
tumour is well-demarcated. These tumours, however, are not enucleated these days as, with this
technique, the recurrence rate is high.
